The LAbode emphatically swelled with resounding repartee this weekend prior for the biweekly Sober Sunday as convivial comrades convened for requisite merriment, and to be subjected to my home cookery: cheesy chicken enchiladas, a vibrant carne asada ensalada palette, healthified 5-layer dip to gussy up blue and white tortilla chips, and the brandished decadent indulgence of the evening: dulce de leche espresso syrup-injected babycakes. My noggin's drawing a blank on who inquired for recipes, so do kindly lemme know which one(s) you had a hankering for. Unparalleled goodness

Golly molly, God is everywhere. The veracious reality that by Him all things were created and through Him all things are sustained is mind-boggling and deserves our undivided honor, glory, and praise. The flooring truth that though we are but mere specks on this globe, God knows each and every one of us down to the number of hairs on our head and loves us to the point of sending His only son to die on the cross in our place to enable for us a relationship with him. And yet, I oft take these staggering truths for granted. How often I prioritize the things of the world above God. How brutally foolish of me to love the Creator’s gifts more than the Creator who graciously gave ‘em to me. Lord, help me not to be like Balak and align my heart’s desires with yours. Lord, though I daily fall and fail, thank you that you are faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and remember them no more whence we confess them to you. Thank you for daily bombarding me with your surmounting goodness. Thank you for the work you are doing in people’s lives - powerful testaments to your ceaseless mercy, exhibited particularly at CrossView Church’s baptismal yesterafternoon.I’m so encouraged by what God has done in Feilbe’s and Jennie’s lives and their subsequent desire to profess their devotion to Him through baptism. God works in so many situations and in so many people in so many more ways than we can ascertain. Behold Feilbe’s testimony:

Feilbe, you are a colossal gift from the Lord. I praise God for your fervent desire to learn and apply the truth of God’s word and discover what the gospel means for your life. Our discipleship meetings have been such a blessing to me and I am so grateful to the Lord for your salvation. Congratulations on this amazing new journey in Christ – our everlasting hope, our ultimate peace, and our unprecedented joy. I’m so excited we get to run this race together. Grow in grace, dear sister. Love you!
God really has bestowed the loveliest people in my life. I mean, I awakened this morningtide to a double whammy of delightful notes!I am so undeserving of all of these things and more, and yet, God, you are so kind in lavishing upon me your abundant grace. I’ll never truly fathom the depths of your love, but thank you for the inklings you allow me to experience. There is always so very much to be thankful for, all of which are possible because of Christ’s work on the cross. So Lord, help me to live a life of thankfulness to You in my mission to know You and make You known. Thank you that you are with me always, even to the end of the age.

Fresh factor

Fresh seasonal produce happifies me heart, particularly leafy greengrocery acquired from the bounteous benevolence of dear friends, whose organic rainbow Swiss chard became a crucial component of a tasty dinner: lemon herb-baked salmon (with plenty o' paprika!) topped with sauteed rainbow Swiss chard and onions accompanied by a conservative mound of brown rice.
I'm always inclined to snap snapshots of dinnertime concoctions, but alas, dingy indoor lighting contributes to lackluster photographs per above.

Idyllic island migration

In observance of an abridged spring respite, we made a dashing day getaway tohistorically alluring Balboa Island, home of the eclectic storefront-lined Cape Cod-esque Marine Avenuebespeckled with emblematic frozen chocotreat-dipped banana emporiumsalong a rolling waterfront by which to luxuriously lollbefore boarding the clanging and chugging ferryto traipse the rinkydink pier, which is enchantingly circumscribed by a seascape of the most spectacular sort,turn-of-the-century carnival diversions, stoically territorial pelican kings, and the aboriginal vista-privileged Ruby's,where we shooby dooby doo'ed for an expedited bite on the rooftop patioamid salty gales and ocean swells.'Twas a most blessed sonshiny day with a most lovely gal pal.
